American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Names 2017 Fellows

A former president of L-3 Communications, Dr. Jai N. Gupta utilizes his four decades of leadership and technical experience as chairman and chief executive officer of Centerline Biomedical based in Cleveland, Ohio. A graduate of Purdue University’s doctoral program in electrical engineering, Dr. Jai N. Gupta is an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

Established in 1963, the AIAA is the world’s largest technical society aimed at the global aerospace industry. The organization began upon the merging of the American Rocket Society and the Institute of the Aerospace Sciences. Today, the group has more than 30,000 members in 88 countries. As the leading aerospace publisher, the AIAA has published more than 300 books and 200,000 technical articles.

In January 2017, AIAA announced its class of 2017 fellows and honorary fellows. On May 3, 2017, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C., the AIAA will induct 21 fellows and three honorary fellows. Fellows make notable and valuable contributions to the sciences, arts, or technology of aeronautics and astronautics. Honorary fellow is the highest AIAA designation, and is given to those who have made significant contributions to the aerospace industry.
