A graduate of Purdue University with a PhD in electrical engineering and mathematical statistics, Dr. Jai N. Gupta leverages his training to serve as chairman and chief executive officer of Centerline Biomedical in Cleveland. Active in his professional community, Dr. Jai N. Gupta is an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), which will hold its Aviation and Aeronautics Forum and Exposition from June 5 through 9, 2017.

The event, held at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel in Colorado, will bring together nearly 3,000 participants to discuss topics such as robotics and digital manufacturing and how these factors may be changing the aviation field. Attendees will also consider whether other factors, such as unmanned aerial systems and cybersecurity attacks, are the real game changers in aviation.

The exposition will feature more than 2,000 technical presentations on topics related to aviation and aerodynamics from government agencies and aviation companies to university labs and manufacturing companies. New features in 2017 include the Cybersecurity Symposium on June 5 and 6 and the Transformational Electric Flight Workshop and Expo from June 7 through 9. A former president of L-3 Communications, Dr. Jai N. Gupta utilizes his four decades of leadership and technical experience as chairman and chief executive officer of Centerline Biomedical based in Cleveland, Ohio. A graduate of Purdue University’s doctoral program in electrical engineering, Dr. Jai N. Gupta is an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

Established in 1963, the AIAA is the world’s largest technical society aimed at the global aerospace industry. The organization began upon the merging of the American Rocket Society and the Institute of the Aerospace Sciences. Today, the group has more than 30,000 members in 88 countries. As the leading aerospace publisher, the AIAA has published more than 300 books and 200,000 technical articles.

In January 2017, AIAA announced its class of 2017 fellows and honorary fellows. On May 3, 2017, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C., the AIAA will induct 21 fellows and three honorary fellows. Fellows make notable and valuable contributions to the sciences, arts, or technology of aeronautics and astronautics. Honorary fellow is the highest AIAA designation, and is given to those who have made significant contributions to the aerospace industry.

Dr. Jai N. Gupta is the chairman and chief operating officer of Centerline Biomedical, a company that seeks to expand the reach of its intraoperative positioning system (IOPS) technology to improve the safety and efficacy of endovascular procedures. He has more than 40 years of experience in the electrical engineering field. Dr. Jai N. Gupta is also an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is the principal technical society serving the aerospace profession internationally. It has over 30,000 members from 88 countries and is dedicated to providing a voice for scientists, educators, researchers, engineers, and allied professionals within the industry.

There are nine levels of AIAA membership. Student members are those holding an interest in aeronautics and astronautics while currently attending an institute of higher learning. Educator associates are STEM teachers of grades K-12. Associate members do not hold a scientific or engineering degree but are interested in aeronautics and astronautics, while members hold a BA in science or engineering and have achieved professional status in the field. Senior member status goes to members who have achieved success in a professional aeronautics or astronautics practice for at least eight years.

Senior members who have completed important scientific or engineering work or otherwise made a significant contribution to the field may be eligible to become associate fellows. Associate fellow candidates must be nominated by their peers and are required to have 12 years of experience as a professional in the industry. Associate fellows may also rise to become fellows upon making notable contributions to the field, and honorary fellows after demonstrating long and highly impactful careers in aeronautics or astronautics.

Finally, individuals who demonstrate distinction in the field may, upon nomination by the Honors and Awards Committee, be elected by the board to become honorary members of AIAA.

Benefits of AIAA membership include access to AIAA job listings, discounts on AIAA publications and forums, networking opportunities at local AIAA events, and discounts on automobile and home insurance.

The founder and former president of EER Systems, Dr. Jai N. Gupta has more than four decades of experience in the field of electrical engineering. He currently serves as the chairman and chief executive officer of Centerline Biomedical. An active member of his community, Dr. Jai N. Gupta is also the founder and trustee emeritus of Durga Temple.

Located in Fairfax Station, Virginia, Durga Temple of Virginia brings together all people of Hindu faiths. Established in 1991, with primary construction completed in 1996 and dome construction completed in 2006, the temple was the first Bhagwati Durgaji temple in the United States. In addition to its weekly and monthly services, the temple performs a number of religious services and rituals, including wedding ceremonies, Mata Jagran, and the Sehra Bandhi ceremony, among others.

Durga Temple also hosts BalGokul, a weekly class for children to learn about Indian and Hindu culture and practices as well as to make friends. Held on Sunday mornings between September and June, BalGokul teaches children Bhajans, which are traditional religious songs. Children also attend religious classes and receive access to more than 250 Amar Chitra Katha books.

Grouped into four different age levels, BalGokul is overseen by parents and volunteers. The children participate in two annual events and a variety of periodic events.
